Meet Dr. Whitaker
Dr. T.J. Whitaker is a board-certified dentist specializing in general dentistry. He is passionate about treating dental issues within the community as well as educating the community on the importance of optimal oral health and its connection to overall general health. Dr. Whitaker’s main goal is to make each dental visit a positive experience, focusing on excellence in comprehensive dentistry and first-class customer service!
Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Dr. Whitaker graduated from Saint Louis University in 2005, with a Bachelor of Biological Sciences degree while preparing to enter dental school upon graduation. He graduated from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine in 2009, earning a degree as a Doctor of Dental Medicine. While at Southern Illinois University, Dr. Whitaker was a distinguished Dean’s Research Scholar, and presented research in various conferences within and outside of the United States. He was also a member and president of Psi Omega Dental Fraternity.
Dr. Whitaker strives to offer excellent dental care in an efficient and affordable manner and to educate the community on the importance of the prevention of dental decay and periodontal disease and how these things are related to overall health. He wants every patient to have a pleasant experience, be confident in your smile and know that a healthy smile is very important to a healthy life!
Dr. Whitaker is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Missouri Dental Association, as well as the Greater St. Louis Dental Society. He has volunteered his dental services in many “Give Kids a Smile” events in Missouri and Illinois, volunteered at several children’s facilities, as well as a mission trip to Jamaica.
Dr. T.J. Whitaker believes in staying physically fit and enjoys biking, hiking, running, and many other sports. His greatest, personal physical achievement was completing the “Go St. Louis Marathon”. Since the race, Dr. Whitaker has been involved in many races and competitions and likes to use the events to raise dental awareness amongst other health issues that we face as a community.
